Opportunity overview
Vale of White Horse District Council is seeking to appoint an experienced main contractor to carry out a Gym Extension and Wet Side Changing Facilities Refurbishment at the Wantage Leisure Centre.
The wet side changing facilities at the centre have become outdated and require a total refurbishment to ensure the facilities maintain a high quality standard, meet current regulations, and adhere to Sport England's Accessible and Inclusive Sports Facilities directives.
The leisure centre is always busy and is not only used by the members and public, but also the adjacent school, King Alfreds.
It is therefore essential that the continuing well-being of all site users, the school pupils (safeguarding), and staff, is prioritised during the lifetime of this project, particularly during the construction phase. The contractor must make every effort
whilst preparing their submission to always negate or reduce risks to an acceptable level for all site users, and this must be evidenced within the project's construction phase health and safety plan (CPHSP), risk assessments, and method statements (RAMS).
Please refer to full suite of tender documents for further details.
