Opportunity overview
The Spherical Tokamak for Energy Production (STEP) is an ambitious programme to accelerate the delivery of sustainable fusion energy. The STEP programme will design and build the world’s first compact prototype fusion powerplant, based on the spherical tokamak design, by the 2040s. Currently, the concept design of all major systems and plant are in an ongoing refinement process The purpose of this contract is to support the development of a concept control system for a Power and Energy Management System (PEMS), and to further develop the powerplant simulation models for its STEP Prototype Plant (SPP) Electrical Infrastructure system.
