Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust (AWP) provides mental health services across Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Swindon and Wiltshire, from more than 90 community and inpatient sites and through partnerships with external organisations. AWP operates across two financially challenged Integrated Care Systems and works with the South West Provider Collaborative for mental health services.
The Board has invested in strengthening external stakeholder relationships and reviewing partnership working models. It has also experienced material membership changes since the previous well-led inspection, including a new Chair in autumn 2024 and three new Non-Executive Directors commencing in 2026.

The review will provide objective and constructive challenge, identify prioritised developmental actions and inform targeted improvement work to secure and sustain future performance.
