A zero commitment contract to provide digital skills and product delivery capabilities to support the Buyer in delivering the Department for Education's (DfE) Strategic Data Transformation Programme.
Rationale
Need for additional works, services or supplies by the original contractor/concessionaire: Additional service requirements have become necessary which were not included within the original procurement. The services provided under this modification form part of ongoing strategic and operational activities and are delivered within established systems, processes and delivery arrangements developed during contract delivery. Appointing an alternative supplier for the interim period covered by this modification would result in significant inconvenience and substantial duplication of costs. In particular, an alternative supplier would require mobilisation, onboarding and knowledge transfer activities before effective service delivery could commence, followed by a further transition to the Department's future sourcing arrangements. The Department's considers this would create avoidable transition costs and unnecessary operational disruption.
