Description
Best Value Scoring Matrix Tenders will be evaluated on best value rather than lowest price alone, with the primary emphasis on play value to children in the junior age range. Each criterion is scored 0-5 and multiplied by its weighting to give a weighted score out of 100. Criterion Weighting Score (0-5) What is being assessed Play value & variety of play experience for the junior age range 40% 0-5 Range and richness of play patterns offered (e.g. climbing, sliding, balance, agility, social play) for the target age group Age-appropriateness & play value (typically ages 5-12) 15% 0-5 Suitability of scale and challenge level for the junior age range specifically, not a scaled-up toddler unit Build quality & durability of materials 15% 0-5 Specification of materials, finish and expected service life Compliance & safety certification 10% 0-5 Conformity with BS EN 1176 / BS EN 1177 (or successor standards) and a satisfactory RoSPA post-installation inspection Price / value for money 15% 0-5 Not lowest cost alone - overall value relative to play value and quality offered Warranty & aftercare support 5% 0-5 Length and scope of warranty; availability of spare parts and maintenance support Total 100% Scoring guide: Score Meaning 0 Does not meet the requirement / no information provided 1 Poor - significant shortfall against the requirement 2 Below average - partially meets the requirement 3 Satisfactory - meets the requirement 4 Good - exceeds the requirement in some respects 5 Excellent - fully meets and clearly exceeds the requirement Weighted score = (raw score ÷ 5) × weighting. The tender with the highest total weighted score out of 100 will be recommended for award.
