Rationale
Need for additional works, services or supplies by the original contractor/concessionaire: The services under this contract are delivered by an NHS Foundation Trust providing integrated acute healthcare services, including Commissioner Requested Services (CRS) / Essential Services and specialised services. Due to the highly integrated nature of these services across hospital sites, there is no alternative provider capable of delivering the full scope of services to the required standard. A change of contractor would result in significant disruption to patient care, service continuity, and clinical risk. It would also lead to substantial duplication of costs associated with mobilising a new provider, including workforce transition, infrastructure, clinical systems, and governance arrangements. Therefore, for both technical and economic reasons, the existing provider remains the only viable organisation capable of delivering the services.
