Review Details
continuity of clinical services, preservation of critical KPIs, operational necessity, provider suitability, and avoidance of disruption—MKUH determined that a PSR Direct Award Process C is the most appropriate, lawful, and risk minimising mechanism for awarding the bowel screening services at Saxon Clinic and Chiltern Clinic.<br/>This approach is fully aligned with the statutory PSR guidance issued by NHS England and the requirements set out in the 2023 Regulations
Why this procedure was chosen
This contract has been awarded to a single economic operator under the Provider Selection Regime (Direct Award Process C). The existing provider is currently delivering the bowel cancer screening services to a satisfactory standard and is expected to continue to do so under the proposed contract. The scope of the services and contractual arrangements are not changing considerably, and continuity of clinically safe, effective, and accredited screening services is required. In accordance with the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023, a competitive process involving multiple operators was not considered necessary or appropriate.
