Status Details
Following a review and having considered feedback from prospective providers, the Commissioner has taken the decision to discontinue the current process and re-tender the Dementia Support Service. The purpose of this decision is to revise the procurement approach to improve the long-term sustainability of the service and facilitate a successful service transition. As a result, the re-tendered procurement will include a revised contract term of three (3) years with the option to extend for a further three (3) years, together with the availability of up to £80,000 of non-recurrent funding to support exceptional workforce transition costs, including costs arising from TUPE arrangements where applicable. The non-recurrent funding has been identified to support workforce stability and service continuity during mobilisation and transition. The funding will only be available where TUPE, or other agreed workforce transitional arrangements, apply and result in demonstrable additional costs associated with the transfer of the service. The funding is time-limited, non-recurrent in nature, and will not form part of the recurrent contract value. Providers should therefore develop proposals on the basis that the service will operate sustainably within the recurrent funding envelope for the duration of the contract. No commitment is given by the Commissioner to provide equivalent funding in future years, and the non-recurrent allocation should not be regarded as establishing a precedent for future financial support. A notice advertising the launch of the revised procurement process will be placed in due course.
