Rationale
Need for modification brought about by circumstances which a diligent contracting authority/entity could not foresee: Urgent works identified by the DfI Rivers Asset Management Unit to repair and upgrade several flood defences on the River Roe within the contract area. Additional deterioration of the river bank threatened flood defence in the Myroe/Crindle area. These emergency works are within the contract scope but were not identified within the work programme for this contract and could not have been reasonably foreseen at the time of the original contract. This modification does not alter the overall nature of the contract.
Description
An increase to the total contract value is required to allow for the provision of emergency flood defence upgrades and bank stabilisation works to the River Roe.
