Tendring District Council currently has a seven plus seven year contract in place for the provision of kerbside household waste and recycling collection and street sweeping services contracts. The Street sweeping services contract, which includes the servicing of street litter and dog waste bins plus the cleaning of seafront and beach locations in the district is set to expire on the 31st December 2025. Whilst the kerbside household waste and recycling contract which currently collects waste and recycling from over 74,000 households in the district is set to expire on 31st January 2026, hence the Council are seeking to procure new arrangements. The Council’s primary concerns/objectives are price, compliance with the Environmental Act 2021, simpler recycling requirements and the impacts of the Extended Producer Responsibility and Deposit Return Scheme, and how we can minimise our exposure to these concerns. Following the responses received to the Council's market engagement questionnaire, the Council wishes to invite interested providers to attend 1-2-1 market engagement sessions – either in person within Essex (location to be confirmed upon booking) or online via a Teams meeting to further discuss their responses to the Council's market engagement questionnaire. A timetable of available sessions has been provided below for providers to select from. These will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis. The Council intends for these 1-2-1 sessions to be up to two hours in length. To book a 1-2-1 session please email wasteservice.procurement@essex.gov.uk Providers can choose whether the below meetings are conducted face to face within Essex (location to be confirmed upon booking) or virtually via Teams. 8th May 2024 - 10am - 12pm 8th May 2024 - 2pm - 4pm 16th May 2024 - 10am - 12pm 16th May 2024 - 2pm - 4pm Timetable for Virtual Meetings via Teams Only: 7th May 2024 - 10am - 12pm 14th May 2024 - 2pm - 4pm 17th May 2024 - 1pm - 3pm It is important to note that this PIN is not a call for competition and as such you will need to express your interest in any future tender opportunity once the contract notice is published in Find a Tender and on Contracts Finder. It should also be noted that this PIN invites individuals and organisations to express an interest in this exercise only and is NOT part of any pre-qualification or selection process. This PIN is intended as an awareness, communication, and information gathering exercise. An expression of interest is no indication of a commitment to participate in any future tendering process nor does it infer any preferential or special status on those individuals and organisations who participate.
