Opportunity overview

SilverRail currently provides SilverCore for digital retail and ticketing, with Braintree as the payment service provider and SilverAgent for customer aftersales care for the TfW Rail web and app. They also supply a bus journey planning engine for the Traveline Cymru website and app. Both services will need to be integrated into UNO at a later stage. This contract therefore consolidates the two existing services and incorporates the future additional functionality required for UNO

Why this procedure was chosen
SilverRail is already the provider for our existing TfW Rail web and app, as well as Traveline Cymru, which influences our partnerships with other third parties. Imaginet currently delivers the front end for the TFW Rail web and app, while Spindogs provides the front end for Traveline Cymru. Hitachi, the primary supplier of the UNO back end, has entered a contract with SilverRail to purchase their journey planning engine, which is essential for UNO. To successfully deliver UNO, the contract term must align with Hitachi’s end date of 23/06/2029.
